Puppies, Santa Claus and Christmas, what more do I need to say? Santa Buddies: The Legend of Santa Paws, Disney´s newest Blu-ray and DVD title that releases today, perfectly combines these magical elements to bring the holiday season to your home-paws and all.
The Buddies-Budderball, B-Dawg, RoseBud, Buddha and MudBud-are a group of adorable talking puppies that have become world-wide famous thanks to the three previous movies they have starred in. Santa Buddies is the fourth Buddies film and the first one to spread Christmas cheer with their version of a classic Santa Claus tale.
This was my girl´s first encounter with the man she calls “Ho, ho, ho”, i.e. Santa Claus. But, now, she will probably forever believe that Santa Paws, Santa’s canine companion in this movie, is actually part of the tale. And that sleighs are led by a group of puppies that talk, fly and climb down chimneys. Not that I mind, not at all. I am one of those moms that enjoys her girl’s fantasy worlds and how they are forever evolving. These puppies, who in our house speak in Spanish, have surely brought the Christmas joy to this house.
Now, if I can get my daughter to sit on Ho, ho, ho’s lap for one decent picture. Maybe if Santa Paws was around, maybe…

We haven’t seen any of the movies, but I like Rosebud’s name. My 3 yr old has seen the commercials and wants this movie. Wouldn’t it be great for her to hear the doggies (not to mention Santa) speaking Spanish?!

Dang, it took me a while to get down to the bottom to leave a comment! Although my daughter hasn’t seen this movie yet, I know she’d love it. I’m gonna go with Puppy Paws, since it seems like he’s the leader of the “rein-puppy” pack. And since my kid is really into Rudolph, he seems the most similar to this famous reindeer.

We haven’t seen the movie, so I showed my kids the names and told them to pick one. They picked Mudbud. Unfortunately, their reason was that it reminded them of Harry Potter (MudBlood – not a good thing!), but that’s what I get for asking and not making one up myself!

My nieces and nephews haven’t seen any of these movies yet, but my favorite puppy name is Buddha. If I had another dog, that’s definitely a name that would be on the short list.
Since I haven’t seen the movies, I had to call my niece and ask her which was her fave. She told me Rosebud. When I asked her why, she said “cause she’s a girl dog!” Gotta love a little one’s honesty! Thanks!
